Event: What the Bible Really Says About Homosexuality

Our small, powerhouse congregation will be hosting a seminar open to all interested in seeking justice in our community. The topic of this seminar is based on the book “What the Bible Really Says About Homosexuality” written by Daniel A. Helminiak, Ph.D. Reverend Timothy Tiffany, of San Diego will be hosting this seminar as we explore the handful of verses in the bible that address homosexuality and are typically used as words of prejudice and exclusion in many circles within Christianity. It is our hope that the work of this seminar will empower the LGBT community and their allies to join forces in new and meaningful ways and enlighten the world with equality.

That we welcome all who seek to follow Christ, irrespective of gender, race, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, cultural background, political persuasion, and/or life experiences. And we boldly proclaim a Christ-like love for all of God’s children, no matter where they are in life’s journey.”

UCC churches express God’s extravagant welcome in a variety of ways. Our welcome embraces both those we invite to participate in our congregations, as well as those outside the church, with whom we work for God’s justice and compassion. That is our prayer, our hope.

Changing Lives:
That’s Our Church’s Wider Mission

No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here.

Because we believe in extravagant welcome, we insist that God’s table is open, not closed, and God’s gift and claim in baptism are irrevocable…

We demonstrate this through public professions of our identity and purpose: multi-racial, multi-cultural, open and affirming, accessible to all.

We advocate justice for all as an extension and expression of faith.

We are open to new ways of being church and forming Christian community.

We affirm that cultural differences expand our ability to welcome more people.

We strive to keep our perspective global in our partnership with people of faith around the world.
