February PFLAG Meeting – LGBTQ Visalia

PFLAG Tulare and Kings Counties is a volunteer group of parents, family and friends of people who are gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT). We welcome members of the GLBT community to our meetings and membership. We meet on the third Sunday of each month.

Join us this Sunday, February 17, for PFLAG’s belated Valentine’s present to you: love and marriage.

Audrey Bilger, Ph.D., is co-editor of Here Come the Brides!: Reflections on Lesbian Love and Marriage, a collection of essays, poems, and plays by women in love with women.

Marriage equality has come to more and more states and countries, and Bilger, professor of literature, gender studies, and yoga at Claremont McKenna College, and Michele Kort, senior editor at Ms. magazine, have given us a diverse picture of women who marry women.

Bilger will speak to PFLAG Tulare and Kings Counties on Love and Marriage. There will be an opportunity to buy the book and have it signed, and because PFLAG is all about love, there will be a sweet treat for all attendees as well as a door prize.

As always, we meet the 3rd Sunday of each month from 3 to 5 PM at the Family HealthCare Network Administrative Office at 305 East Center Street. Use the Bridge Street entrance.

Some of us will be taking Bilger and her wife to dinner afterward.

PFLAG provides a safe and confidential space place to talk about sexual orientation and gender identity, and works to build a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity.

There is no cost to attend, and membership is optional.

PFLAG Tulare and Kings Counties is a non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) status.
