Coming Out Stories

Candi Hood, MA, is a parent, author, teacher, grant writer, and Certified Dyslexia Testing Specialist. Kristin Beasley completed her PhD in Clinical Neurophsychology and Parent Infant Mental Health. Both women lived for nearly forty years with straight heterosexual privilege. They sacrificed their basic civil rights in exchange for true love.

We welcome Candi, Kristen, and two of their six children, (Eli Sullivan 16, and Bethany Houghton 13) as we hear their story of coming out and all they have experienced through the process.

They live in Reedly where they are currently building their dream project, a philanthropic, organic farm. They have a passion for helping others and advocating for at-risk population.

Coming Out Stories is our traditional October program to celebrate Coming Out Day which takes place on October 11 each year.
